Celebrity giftologist Tara Riceberg makes buying presents (almost) more fun than receiving them!
LA’s best holiday pop-up shop, TWEAK99 has extended its lease and has launched a redesigned shop, TWEAK. The thrill of shopping Target with the pride of gifting Barneys, TWEAK gifts are affordable, functional and imaginative! TWEAK stocks desirable necessities, home accessories, educational kids toys, and items that make you smack your head in an “I could’ve had a V8” moment because you should have shopped TWEAK first. You’ll discover quirky items for your “impossible to buy for- they have everything-they make-believe for a living” gift list.
Owner and giftologist, Tara Riceberg, takes the chore out of gifting by curating the selection, offering only genius designs that are pre-wrapped in TSA-friendly cellophane. “Think of TWEAK as your personal gift closet!” She also encourages playing with and touching everything. “You have to engage product to love it,” Riceberg says. That’s why the store policy is “Touch everything. If you are not having fun, we send you home. If you break something, say sorry. We believe in good manners.”
She encourages smelling and tasting, too. “I give customers experiences they can’t have online. I believe value isn’t spending less but getting more for your money. Where else can you arm wrestle, play air hockey or eat fresh baked chocolate chip cookies while shopping?”
Riceberg hopes that customers arrive happy, but leave happier.
But, wait there’s more. Always kid friendly, there’s a craft table for children to make their own art for the store’s gallery. The aisles are sized for double-wide strollers and the store is merchandised so that kids can touch and play with everything on one half of TWEAK. Kids are encouraged to ride around on Trunki suitcases or push miniature-shopping carts around.
Riceberg subscribes to the “less is more” concept of retailing—you don't have to offer everything under the sun; you just have to offer the best! (That said, if there is something you need that isn’t in-store, Riceberg will source it).
